| mrI - Don't understand the results! Help..hurting!!!
Hi there,
I hope you guys can shed some light on what's going on with me. I am a 40 year old active in shape mother of two. I'm an avid golfer and horseback rider. I've suffered debiltating migraines after the birth of my son 5 years ago. I'm on Axert, Toprol 50MG/Daily, Prozac 20MG/Daily and Hydrocodone 7.5 as needed. Okay, so I'm playing golf the other day and I hit a root of a tree on my swing. My whole arm went completely numb and I was unable to even hold anything the rest of the day. I was in excruciating pain so I obviously sought a doctor's opinion. I had an MRI done and I don't understand the results. This is where I think the problem lies:
C6-7: Left-central and paracentral disc/spur with left-ventral cord flattening. There is a moderate left foraminal narrowing with uncinate hypertrophy. Left canal caliber is BORDERLINE.....huh? What does all this mean?
I'm seeing a orthopedic surgeon, he hasn't seen the results yet but, he said from my-xrays I urgently need cortisone shots in my neck. I'm scheduled to have that done on April 1st. He's tried me on the following: Voltaren, Meloxican, Medrol. Nothing is working...I even tried a hydrocodone to see if that would help and I'm still in pain. About a 7. Can't sleep, can't drive the car because I can't move my neck to see if cars are coming.
I brought up the migraines because I thought they may be related to my neck...just a thought. I am tripping over my own feel constantly and I told the nurse this and she said, "don't even bring that up to the doctor, one has NOTHING to do with the other." Okay, I just thought I'd throw it all out there to maybe see if someone could make sense of this CRAP!!!!
Any help or advise would be most appreciated.
PS-Starting PT tomorrow!
