Currently, I have been a pain meds since 1999, and I have become tolerate to narcotics. I am on a high dose and I am seeking out a new pain mgmt dr. that will prescribe narcotics. I am willing travel anywhere in maryland, dc, and va. I just need help, because I am still working regardless of how bad I feel. I have to be able to function and have a normal life without always feeling bad.
Thanks in advance for anyone help.
Hopefull but not helpless
I have a great PM Doctor in northern VA. But I hesistate to give you his name as he isn't real fond of folks that come in looking for narcotics right off the bat. he usues alot of different modalities, to include medication, but that sets off a red flag for him. I'm sorry, it's tough being a PMer. What is wrong with the doctor you are seeing now, if I may ask?

I am seeing a doctor in Silver Spring MD and she is my Primary Care Doctor. I have just started a new job closer to my home and my insurance has changed. I have had to pay out of pocket for an office visit, which I don't mind sometimes, but I am paying 500 a month for insurance from my job. So I am only using my medical insurance to pay for my prescriptions. My current insurance is Carefirst.
my PM doesn't accept any insurance, but his office staff will file for you to your insurance as an out of network provider. I have two insurances, so I'm not sure what it runs us but I know that he isn't cheap. But he has been listed as one of the top 70 PM doctors in the country.
