Hi Rog, Wow, 39 surgeries in 5 Years? When was the last surgery? Docs tend to treat acute pain like post op pain a little different than chronic pain. If your still in the post op phase the surgeon generally manages your pain. If it's been about 6 months and the surgeon feels you should no longer need meds and that was the last surgery you should need, then a group of docs that specialize in PM would be what your looking for. If their is a locl PM clinic or docs specializing in PM, Find out what you need as far as referrals, surgical notes, diagnotsics etc and it's pretty much trial and error with pain management. Pain meds have a pretty significant impact on bowel function so even finding the right pain med may take some time and trial and error. Good luck and welcome, Dave
