Sharp pain from bottom of Penis

March 2011 I noticed that my penis had bent to the left and I had sharp pain when penis was erect
I have had a camera put inside my penis but they did not see anything.
then had ultrasound scans still did not see anything.
so went last week to see pain specialist and he just gave me 100gm more of Gabapentine so now i am on 400mg three times a day.

The pain is so bad I can not masturbate or even think of having any sex.
When I go to bed I have to curl up to sleep otherwise the pain hurts.
and in the mornings when I wake with an erection pain is unbearable.
When I press the area it really hurts, feels like tiny beads along my penis.

Has anyone else had this, I went to see a chines doctor who specialises in acupuncture But he said I needed a small operation as it seems there is a small growth on the blood vessel. Have said this to my doctor but he says he cannot feel anything, I am really in pain and do not know what to do next.

Re: Sharp pain from bottom of Penis

Have you been to a urologist? Has anyone done an MRI? As for the pain, gabapentin at 400mg three times a day is still a fairly low dosage, as many people require at least 3000mg per day. Also, there are other drugs that may reduce your pain better than the gabapentin, so ask your doctor if something else may work. Many antidepressants and anti-seizure medications are used to treat pain. Some of these include pregabalin, amitriptyline/nortriptiline, carbamazepine, duloxetine/fluoxetine, clonazepam, venlafaxine, and many others. If your doctor doesn't seem to be able to help, you might also want to consider seeing a pain management specialist, preferably in a pain clinic setting. You shouldn't have to be in such pain.

Re: Sharp pain from bottom of Penis

Due to the burning pain to the right side of my face ,neck and shoulder due to two seven hour operations on the cancer attacking my nerves I am already since 2003 taking Duloxetine 60mg twice a day and was on amitripyline also, but they do nothing to stop the chronic pain I have.

Thank you so much for replying
