Blood smell in nose.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but do it anyway.
I have terrible PND, especialy after eating or drinking and right after I wake up.
When I wake up my nose feels always congested. I can't blow it out so I always sniff, sometimes very agressive. When I sniff to hard sometimes I can expel some blood thinged mucus/ together with green-yellow mucus. It has a foul odor. Often I will get a blood smell in my nose too.
Now my question is, could this be caused by sniffing too hard and too much? Because I won't have the blood smell if I don't do. I have performed a few times a nasal wash too and there was blood too. Have I damaged something inside?

I don't know if I have post nasal drip, but I sometimes have bloods show up in my mucus when I blow it. It happens when my nose gets really dry.

I think it could be from blowing too hard. Don't squeeze the side of your nose when blowing. Only light hold tissue in place and blow. The blood in the nasal wash... well ... try seeing an ENT specialist about it.

Good luck

Re: Blood smell in nose.

I'm not sure about the blood but the foul-smelling and green mucous is a sign of a sinus infection. I'd call the ENT (ear nose throat specialist) best luck!
