Just a quick question. I have been experiencing a sore throat nightly now for approximately 2 weeks. It is only sore at night (wierd). Starts approximately 5-6 pm and sometimes sticks around for several hours. Hot tea soothes it. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any thoughts on what this could be related to? I can't figure out why it gets sore only at night.

Devrha,
What type of heating do you have in your residence? I found years ago that forced dry hot air of a heating & cooling system often caused my throat to become pretty dry and somewhat rough. Any other symptoms such as aches, pains or fever?
it could be that ur mouth is not as active at night.....like when i have a sore throat it is mild throughout the day but when i go to sleep and it gets really dry that is when it really starts to hurt! just a thought....
I too have had a soar throat for going on two weeks that appears mainly at night. It started after a trip to England interrupted by a family funeral with lots of sick nephews.
The syptoms started with a slight fever and aches, increased urination, and back pain for one night. Next the cold turned into draining sinuses, slight earache, swollen lymph nodes, and a tight back of the throat. After about four days of this, the cold has gone dormant and only resurfaces as a soar throaght each evening starting around 6pm escallating to a near inability to swollow some nights. Then in the morning, after a shower and a lot of phlem, the soarness goes 90% away for the rest of the day.
My wife has had the exact same symptoms trailing mine by two days, and we are starting to be concerned since this is abnormal for either of us. During the main cold, we were taking DayQuil Flu, but we have subsided to tea and Ricola before bed now.
Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
