Fevers?

My husband has 101.5 fever, chills and aches all over . Is there anything that I can do to help his fever go down? He has cold washcloths on his forhead and is taking meds.

Re: Fevers?

Hi,

I feel for him!

That's not a high fever, but Tylenol helps a lot for fever. If it's because of the flu, all he can do is wait it out. Make sure he drinks plenty of fluids. I always found tea to be soothing when I had the flu. Tylenol every 4 - 6 hours should help with the fever.

The last flu I had, my fever was 103ºF. I thought I was going to die from the shivers and the body aches. The tylenol took the edge off and that in itself made me feel better.

I don't know of anything else to offer except, I hope that he gets over it soon.

If the fever is more than a few days increasingly worse, or he has severe chest congestion, it would be best to call the doctor.

Best to you both (I hope you don't get it),
quincy
