Question head cold + chest pain?

was wondering if someone may be able to point me in right direction or help with suggetions. About 2 weeks ago i developed a head cold only lasted 2 days 3rd day i was fine 4th day i guess it moved into my chest. Anyway 1 1/2 weeks later i go to doctor and am told I have sinusitis Doctor saw me for 3 minutes at most. I dont have any pressure in my head like i normally would when i have a sinus infection, which makes it seem odd. he listened to my chest from my back. prescribed me amoxicillin, flonase, zyrtec. I have not had a fever at all the whole time but i have thius congestion in my lungs that is really starting to hurt. I cough frequently and the pain is in my lower sides both sides kind of right below my rib cage. It is a dry cough hardly ever productive. Could this just be from coughing so much? I have had a severe case of pnuemonia when i was younger 30 days in hospital and have had pluerisy. But the tightness in my lower sides is only there when i cough not when I breathe.
