Hi

I have a sore throat and have had it for three days.I don't ever remember having a sore throat that lasted more than a day or two.My throat just looks red and swollen,I don't see any white stuff on my tonsils or anything.Should I go to the doctor or should i wait it out?

mine started monday, it is now thursday

i did go to the doc and she tested me for strep, which was negative and she gave me some zithromax which i started yesterday... but its sooooooooo painful!!!!!!!!!

it hurts on the right side of my throat and into my inner ear and down a small strip to my collarbone. theres one swollen gland about a 1/2" under my jawline that's slightly bigger than a shelled peanut and it is tender and in so much pain!!! it hurts for me to yawn, to turn my head, to lay my head down, to swallow, to breathe out of my mouth.

this blows!!!

eh... they said its possible that i have mono, so they ran a throat culture. i'll find out tuesday

,I have never had mono but a friend of mine has and I know its no fun.Hope you are feeling better soon.Good luck on Tuesday!

coleen, i was sick like that b4, the thing that helped me was erythromycin (sp) 3 times a day, it cleared up so quickly!!

if your throats still hurts, ask ur doc about that Erythromycin 333mg, if they can see that there is no strep, etc
