| Re: Flu?
Well, the flu shot only protects you from the 3 that can kill you. It won't protect you from the other 200 strains of colds or flus.
Take Tylenol to help with the aches. There's a product called Cold FX. It's supposed to be very helpful in lessening the duration of a cold/flu.
I suggested it to my pharmacist at the start of his cold and he readily accepted my challenge. It was gone in 3 days.
I used to work in a school, and I definitely feel for your "exposure".
I have asthma,so getting the flu shot is a must for me. But, I don't expect to not get a flu at all.
Your fever isn't high, so I would say it's a virus of some sort. What you're experiencing sounds very much what I had just finished with. It affected my asthma ten-fold (which really surprised me as to how much), but the area most affected was from my nose to upper chest and definitely focussed on the larynx area. I didn't lose my voice (this time), but that area of my throat was definitely affected big-time.
Antihistamine will help dry up some of the secretions, and sudafed will help keep the sinuses open. Don't take the antihistamine for more than a few days. It can dry you out too much.
REst, get well, and keep us posted as to how you fare.
Best to you,
quincy
