Cold symptoms for 4 weeks! - Colds & Flu Message Board

Hi all, about 4 weeks ago i started getting the cold, coughing , runny nose, drainage.. it has gotten better over the weeks but the cough and the phlem in my throat are still there like when i had the cold, its not as bad , but whats the deal? It seems to occur more often after i eat a hot meal, i suppose the hot food is making my nose drain into my throat. Is there something wrong with me? I never had cold symptoms linger for a month.

this wont really help you out a lot, but i just wanted to tell you you are not alone...I havew had all those symptoms and more for about a month also, the doctor said that it was just allergies, and put me on Claritan...good luck, and go to a doctor

Hello, Have you seen a doctor? Not to alarm you, because its probably not serious, but it would be a good idea, atleast just to rule out anything else. I'm not sure where you are, but in this part of the country, Seattle, Wa., its definately allergy season. Sounds like you may have gotten a cold bug, however it seems to be aggravated by allegies and maybe a sinus infection. I haven't had a major cold or flu in many years, and I contribute that to really good handwashing, at all times....Also I eat lots of yogurt, onions, and garlic before the cold and flu season starts.
