Stopped up ear - Colds & Flu Message Board

As I said in a previous thread my ear is now stopped up. I scrolled through some of the other threads and someone said to get proxide and put in ear. I have done this and I still can't hear a thing anymore suggestions?

If you have had a cold, then this is probably ear wax. You would need to put drops in to loosen the wax and if this does not help, you may need to get the wax syringed out.

I also have a stopped up ear. I tried the peroxide drops and some advice of holding a candle near my ear. Alas neither has worked. If i get my ear syringed, would I need to go to the doctor or can I do it myself?
