Okay, so here's what's going on. About two or three weeks ago I developed what looked like some cold symptoms. They slowly worsened and I soon discovered I had a sinus infection and my throat hurt. I went to the doctor and she started me on antibiotics and muriphen. She found a sore in my throat and tested me for strep.

Well anyway, the strep test came back negative (that was about five days ago). Since then, the sore has been progressively increasing in size and pain. I went back about three days ago and she told me it was just a post sinus infection sore. It continues to worsen and I'm really concerned. Please help me! What can this be?

I have no chance of having herpes. The sore is whitish about the size of a large bean. It is located on the tissue in front of my tonsil, near the back of my throat. The area surrounding it is very dark red and irritated. The rest of my throat is not irritated or red...just that area.
