coughing up odd things - Colds & Flu Message Board

Okay I dont' know what to call what I am coughing up.. it started yesterday. I coughed and a piece of thin opaque material came up .. I thought how odd that looks like skin... it happend a few times.. this morning I have lost my voice my throat is burning and I am coughin up green stuff, blood, and this skin looking stuff.. what could it be and what is going on!!!! It looks like a piece of skin you may pull of your shoulder when your peeling from a sun burn ITS GROSS!

You should see your dr soon. It sounds to me like you have some sort of chest infection. When you have green stuff that is a definite sign of infection. And when you have an infection you can cough up all manner of weird and strange looking stuff - its usually your lungs trying to get rid of the rubbish thats in there.

I would agree. All that weird stuff is probaby dried up mucous. I am getting that a lot these mornings lately. Have you tried a humidifier?
