Quick ways to banish a mucus filled throat?

Does anyone have some handy at home remedies, that cut the mucus effectively, without doing more harm to the throat?

Thanks!

Re: Quick ways to banish a mucus filled throat?

If your throat hurts from the mucus, I recommend lots of ibuprofen. If you are just choking on it, you need to dry up your nose, because that is where it is coming from. There are many ways to do that, but nothing works better (IMHO) than sudafed. Get a 12 or 24 hour version. Otherwise you are getting clogged up every 4 hours as you near your redose time. If you get a 24 hour version I would take it in the morning or it might make it difficult to sleep. If you still have a hard time benedryl can be a great way to get some sleep.

Tea with lemon. But it won't last. You will have temporary relief. I have all that junk falling down in my throat right now. I hate it.
