Question Best Nasal Decongestion Medicine?

I was just wondering what you guys thought were the best nasal decongestion medicines. I am battling a terrible cold and would appreciate any recommendations. The nasal spray is working pretty good but it only lasts a few hours.

Thanks

Re: Best Nasal Decongestion Medicine?

Dear Dang12,

All nasal decongestents work for 12 hours at the most. My husband suffers from very bad post nasal drip and sinus allergies. The products that best work for him are:

1. Flonase (might need a script. for this one)
2. Afrin

Both work for 12 hours. Try using one first thing in the morning. It takes about a week for the products to start working and for you to feel a difference.

Good Luck!

That was the only nasal spray that got rid of my sinus infection and I didn't have any bad side effects also like most of the other nasal sprays. You will need a prescription for it though.

Re: Best Nasal Decongestion Medicine?

Well I guess at the moment I am taking the best thing.

Its weird though, yesterday it worked well and today it hardly works at all. Any reasons for this?

Re: Best Nasal Decongestion Medicine?

Yea I just want to reiterate how the effectiveness has gone down considerably. Yesterday it almost completely unclogged my nose now it hardly does anything.

Any Ideas?
