Mucus problem - Colds & Flu Message Board

Over three weeks ago I came down with that bad flu virus. For the past three days I have had this scratchy, mild sore throat and I feel like there is a lump there. Also I have been still coughing a little to try to clear this mucus out, but it keeps coating my throat! It is so annoying and I was wondering..
1. Is this still part of the same virus? OR

2. Could it be an allergy?

I am hoping it goes away completely -and my nose too is still a bit runny. When I take a deep breath, I can hear the stuff in my throat and sometimes when I am talking I start to lose my voice and have to clear it out every few seconds. Any help I would appreciate.

I still do not know for sure, but what it is -Post nasal drip I believe. Anyone have any suggestions to help relieve?

Try Mucinex DM, I am using it right now and it is helping. My cough has lessened so much.

Thank you, but do you think it is safe for pregnancy? I bought an allergy med. tonight that also is used to help sleeplessness and ok for pregnancy.

It is seeming to help, but still feel that lump in the back of my throat.
