| strep carrier
my girlfriend has had strep twice in the last month. her doctor suggested i am a carrier so i had a culture done and i have strep but a very mild case of it. i am completely healthy and don't feel sick at all. maybe i'm confused about what a strep carrier is, but can someone have strep and never get sick but pass it on to people by kissing, etc?
doctor gave me omoxillin or something, for 2 weeks, but if i'm not sick and/or i am a carrier and will always have the strep bacteria in my mouth, what good is taking the antibiotic going to do?
furthermore, what about my girlfriend if i am a carrier...does this mean i will always give her strep from time to time?
i don't have tonsils and she does, which could be a reason she is so susceptible to strep and/or why i am not feeling sick because of it. thanks for any responses.
