| | COLD or Pneumonia?
I babysit for a family with a 14 and a half month old little girl, she has had a cold for 3 weeks now, there is no fever, but she has congestion (clear snot) and a rattling chest. She sounds like a cat purring when she is breathing. Mom won't take her to doctor cause she took her the first week when she was struggling to breath and hacking up stuff and doctor told her she was FINE! I am frustrated and concerned that everyone is overlooking what I feel is obvious that she has walking pneumonia and no one is doing anything about it. The parents have a history of taking a back seat to their children's health until there is no choice! So for my piece of mind... what do you think this started off with congestion, that traveled fairly quickly in a few days from her nose to a hacking cough then rattling chest to what we have now, congestion with rattling when she is just breathing and coughing? Sound like Pneumonia?
Note last year at this time when she was about 2 mos old she had RSV.
