I work at a daycare, and im out of work on adverage 4 days a year to a cold. But I am sick alot, i just work through the other things.
Ive had 2(possible 3 now) lung infections this year, and a bunch of head colds. Last year I had strep throat.
I have had breathing problems in the past, and the cough i have now, im kind of choking and gasping for air. I think it may be another lung infection... but how do i prevent from getting it again... its so frustrating
It's hard when you're around kids. Here are my suggestions, but you're probably doing most of them already:
-Flu shot
-Wash hands often
-Never, never touch your hands to your nose, eyes, mouth because that's where most viruses gain entry.
-Get some exercise daily (exercise boosts immunity) - yoga, tai chi, walking all work and are gentle.
-Eat a varied diet to get adequate levels of vitamins/minerals
-Consider using herbal immune boosters
-Acupuncture and massage both have a proven track record for immunity boosting
-Ending your shower on a burst of cold water can stimulate the immune system- my naturopath has me cycle water hot/cold three times in the shower.
Out of curiosity- have you thought of the possibility that you have whooping cough?
Although we are regularly vaccinated for pertussis, or whooping cough, many people still develop the symptoms of it. As a matter of fact, I've heard a lot of healthcare providers say it's on the rise.
Weird, isn't it? It sounds like it should be a disease of the past, something completely wiped out... but it's not.
