In order for her to know, she would have had to have the virus analyzed for it's DNA and that can take weeks. Ask her which lab did the DNA analysis? And if she really does have bird flu, she would be in quarantine so ask her when she will be allowed out of it?
If she hasn't had the virus examined then she has no idea of she has bird flu or any other kind of flu. And if she did, I'm quite sure the NHS would have her off limits to everyone if she tested positive in order to stop a pandemic.
