Last week got a soar throat then later in the week lost my voice and by Sunday had the worst soar throat I have ever had, and got to the point where it was getting really hard to swallow.

Went to bed and thank goodness on Monday AM the soar throat was mostly gone and I could swallow much more easily.

I have heard that if the above had continued on into Monday I would have had to high tail it to emerg or the nearest doctor.

Worst case of Laryngitis I have ever had. I have lost my voice before but never got a wicked soar throat with it.

Any one else had this lately in the Ontario Canada zone of the world - this being January 2012.

this is a bad upper respiratory infection that is going around. I started with a sore throat and i was tested for strep but came back negative. My family was sick for months because you can get it a second time. My kids went to the doctors 6 times each. Sinus infection, ear infection and bronchitis has resulted from this cold. The cold drips in your throat and causes it to be sore but I would go to the doctor to make sure.

thanks for the reply.

slowly getting better now. went to dr. yesterday - thurs jan. 19 and he did a throat swab so will get results monday. my gut is saying its from a nasty, nasty virus.

guess what I have it again (3rd time) and had to go to the doctors again. I am on amoxcillian for fluids that are pressuring my ears. Sick of this and I am losing my voice again. Hard to sleep at night.
