I got intense cold 4 days ago. It threw me out of order completely and in its final stage now it seems to hit my nose. I can't breath at all due to nasal congestion and I need to breath from mouth which makes my throat sourer. Yesterday I had intense nasal flow which seems to have got lighter today. I feel that my sinus are filled with mucus which I can't blow out. It's too cold and snowing and night time. I don't want to get out and look for pharmacy.
Do you have any simple methods in mind which I can use simple house materials to relax my nose and get the mucus out which gives me aches ? All I tried was to use salted water which didn't help much.
Steam inhalation works wonders for me; either a long shower, or boiling water, and once it cools a bit, putting a towel over my head and breathing in (alternatinig between nose and mouth) the steam. When you are able to go out, I would recommend a saline (non-medicated) spray which will help flush out the sinuses and keep them moist. Good luck.
