Should I take my 82 year old mother to the doctor for the flu?
My 82 year old mother has the flu.

She doesn't have any symptoms that I read are necessary for any type of urgent care but as a precaution I am considering taking her to an urgent care facility.

Will they be able to do anything for her such as prescribe medication?

She has had the flu for six days. She does seem to have a congested cough.

Certainly take her to the doctor. Because of her age, unattended flu symptoms could escalate swiftly and she could get really sick. Better to be safe than sorry.
