Moving to the EU, now getting recurring colds

I retired last year early and moved to Spain to the pollution free mountains here. I have been an avid cyclist for many years and a runner as well. I have remained active for 30+ years. Since moving here, I have been cycling in the mountains as well as working out at a local gym. I have however had a cold four times since last October. I read a similar post that stated the person with the recurring cold was not healthy. Not the case here.

How can I prevent these recurring colds and any immune system challenges that may be present?v

Re: Moving to the EU, now getting recurring colds

Colds are caused by viruses, which are living things with a history and ancestors. They develop certain characteristics in different parts of the world, just like humans. Dramatic change of locale always causes more colds at first. Your body has been trained to fight the colds of your hometown, and isn't as well equipped to deal with the special characteristics of the viruses you're now meeting. It sounds like you're very healthy. Just give your body some time to adapt!
