Rhinoplasty - help!

I am 24 years old now and it's been 10 years since I am thinking about reshaping my nose. I have a long nose with a hump -nothing horrible but ruins the general apparence of my face- and I finally decided last year I want this thing done.
I've been searching the net for 5 or 6 months and it seems I'm not getting anywhere. Now I know everything about best USA doctors, but it's so far from where I live and I am concerned about the trip (14 hours on the plain, whitout any medical assistance scares me a lot!). So I started looking for European doctors, but I don't seem to find anything I am completly happy with. I am willing to spend any amount just to be sure it will be ok and I will not need a revision.
So, if anybody has any information on European doctors, please, help me, I feel like I will never find a good enough doctor.
Thank you so much!

Re: Rhinoplasty - help!

Here is my advice. Everywhere there are plastic surgeons who can reshape your nose. Just go and visit at least three in your area and choose one of them. If they are good surgeon they all will show you a portfolio with pictures of before and after of their patients and from there you will start deciding which one to go. See what they all say about your nose and follow your instinct. No worth traveling or going to another country for nose reshape. I had my nose done 2 years with a good doctor in my area. Im very happy with the results Feel free to ask, Im an expert on this topic

Re: Rhinoplasty - help!

Thanks for the answer. I did like only one doctor in my area (and when I say area, I mean country ), but the pictures she showed me were taken 1-2 months after the intervention and the noses were pretty big (front view only). I guess they were swollen but I'm not 100% sure. The others had results I didn't like or perform only under general anesthesia -which I think it's too risky. That's why I start thinking about other countries in Europe...maybe they have more experience or skill.
Can you tell me please more aboute your experience? What's the name of the doctor and where is he/she located?.. Did you feel 100% sure it's the right one from the beginning? How did the intervention go? How long was the nose swollen?
Sorry for asking so many questions but I am so eager to do this already

Re: Rhinoplasty - help!

Okay I tell you. Im located in Puerto Rico so I had my nose done there with a local doctor. I went to this doctor because my coworker recomended to me as she had hers with him and she studied in college with him and swared me he was the best. I didnt knew that much about rhinoplasty back then and I did not consulted any other doctor. I should have consulted with other doctors, I know think I was lucky that in fact he was of the best after researching. There was other doctor I was interested to visit (the one who did the rhino on one Miss Universe) but did not visited and sometimes I wonder what he would have said. So there were really plenty of good surgeons to choose.

Regarding my surgery, I had local with sedation. I think this is the best way to go. I agree that general anesthesia is risky and not worth it for rhinoplasty. I dont remember how long it took my surgery but what I can tell you I required a second surgery cause the septum rediviated again. It was swelled for quite a while, you have to give it at least 4 good months to see what will be the end result. Im very happy with my new nose I can tell you. I wished I had done it when I was younger. Try to not expect too much perfection, if the rest of your face is not perfect dont expect such a dramatic change. Just make sure you do it for an improvement and you will be pleased. I could refer you to a website where you can learn a lot but if as you know I can mention here but if you do a good search for rhinoplasty you will find it. It seems to me you are doing much research so you will have a good experience. When you plan to have it done?
