| Re: Reconstructive Surgery
Hi there, I had something very simaliar to your condition! I had an ATV accident when I was 15, and they did imediate surgery to reconstruct my face. They put some implants under my eyes and on the bridge of my nose, to this day I don't know what they are made of or how strong they are, but my over all appearence is pretty close to the way I was to begin with, othe than the fact I lost my eye as well! The only problems I have with it, other than knowing nothing about the nature of these implants, is you tent to see them in certain light, at least in my case. As far as the scars go, I don't have but 3, and one is within my eye brow, and you can't really see it! The other is under my eye, where they had to cut to put in the implants, and the other is on the bridge of my nose, but I wear dark glasses to cover up my eye that is missing completly and it also serves to hide the scar.
Over all recovery is sligtly extended, it took my a couple of years for my face to get back to normal, but there was really no pain involved. They will tell you to not get in fights or ride roller coasters, it's a bunch of bull.
