Yesterday I had my surgery. I had posted on here about 3 years ago but put off having surgery until yesterday.

I had a severly deviated septum and also wanted some cosmetic changes to my nose. The surgery lasted about 3 hours. It included fixing the septum, raising the nasal bone, straightening the bridge, and lowering the tip of my nose a little bit.

I went with general aneshesia, so I slept through the whole thing. There weren't any complications.

I haven't taken any pain killers and really don't have any pain (unless I touch the stitches). I have no bruising at all, just a little swelling around the sides of my nose. But I do have the worst stuffed up nose! They didn't use packing. They used splints instead. I think they said they needed to use splints to make the bridge straight. Every now and then I am able to breath through my nose, but most of the time it's sealed tight.

This Friday they are removing the bandage and splits. From what I can tell, it looks like they did a good job fixing my nose cosmetically.

It wasn't at all a scary process. The thing I worried about the most was not liking the work that they did.
