what can I expect from plastic surgery - Cosmetic / Plastic Surgery Message Board

Hello,

I am an 18 years old male and I am not happy with the way my face looks. I have a very nice body, very athletic and I have worked very hard for it. My only concern is that I am not happy with my face. I already had ear surgery to make them stand back but it still doesn't make me happy. I don't even look like an "average person" yet. What exactly can I expect from plastic surgery ? I don't want super sexy model kind of thing, just enough to get me through life. I know what being ugly as a kid is like and nobody should go through that. I am tired of it, and decided to put as much money as necessary to finish with it once and for all. If you don't have any advice yourself, but if you know a webpage that explains exactly what makes a person beautiful or not and/or with tips I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey there, I think I've basically been in the same position as you are now.I became very obsessed with my appearance and did alot of weight training to get an athletic body but kind of took that too far and have got alot of injuries which mean I haven't been able to train for a year now.
I too wanted PS to improve my appearance further and had done since I was about 12.
I'd advise you to approach everything in moderation, and that includes your training too- don't go abusing steroids or other drugs.
As far as the surgery goes you sound unhappy in general, I know this is what caused me to seek to improve myself physically, maybe you should see a counsellor and talk through why you want things altered.
If you are happy with yourself as a person and just feel an aspect of your appearance is holding you back, then a well researched, cautious approach to getting what you want altered is a positive step.I think from the tone of your message though that you do need to talk to someone about how you feel.
I don't mean to preach man, just like I said I've been there.
