Sorry, forgot to answser your question.

We have been taking lessons off and on for about a
year so we are beginner beginners - and right now it
is not a pretty site. We do enjoy it though and my
husband (who had very little interest at first) is
beginning to get with it. There are about 4 dance
clubs in our area, one being the Coterie, the oldest
dance club in the US, it has the oldest members too,
lol. It has really given us a new interest and chance
to meet lots of nice people and of course it is
something you can do at any age. It renews your
interest in your appearance too. I don't want to be
the biggest or oldest looking one out there, lol.
Some of these people look pretty darn good. I am
currently dieting a little in hopes of getting in
that size 6 evening gown - have to do it by Sept. l3 and have about 8 pounds to go.
Have you been dancing long? Do you compete?

Thanks for the crepy eye information. I know exactly what you mean and I have the very beginnings of crepy eye,it will be interesting to hear what Dr. Constantian has to say. I told Dawn I would let the Dr. decide what needs to be done first. (Lower facelift or Bleph)I think I need both but don't really want them done at the same time.
I have been ballroom dancing since my early teens, I'm now 55. we have never been in competitions but we've done a few exibitions. It's great fun and a nice way to meet new people. We started with ballroom, went to square dancing, then to round dancing, to country western and back to our first love, Ballroom dancing.
Now that your husband is beginning to like it as well, you'll have a great time.

PS Good luck with the weigth loss. (Not so easy to do at our age LOL )

We square danced a lot when we lived near Chicago in
the 70's. Tried Country Western in the 80's but
didn't keep up with it. We used to go our "dancing" a lot but never had real lessons until now. Wish we had done this years ago. I bet you are a great
dancer - I envy you.

I sure would like to think we were great dancers. :-) When we began taking lessons we realized how little we knew about dancing.No matter how long we practiced there was always someone out there better, and that made us practice all the more. You can try to make the practicing fun or you may wind up in divorce court (just kidding) I found it worked best when I decided to let my husband lead :-).My favorites are the Latin dances...What's yours???

So far, it has been mostly just dying laughing at
ourselves. Of course, men never make mistakes so it
is always me who has made the misstep - it is hard
not to lead. My husband wants to do every step he
knows even if it doesn't fit with the music. We didn't think we would, but we are beginning to like the
Latin dances too. Can't believe my husband likes
the Bolero, Tango and Cha Cha. Our problem is that
he likes to go to the dances but doesn't want to practice.

Wish Dr. C. wasn't so far away. I don't and won't
fly (real phobia) so it will really be difficult for
me to seriously consider a consultation. My husband
and I had planned a trip all the way up the East coast
earlier this year but got too busy - maybe I will try
to plan a vacation around the consultation. Even if
he didn't do the surgery, I would like his opinion.
I believe Dawn said he was one of the two top surgeons
in the nation. Do you know who the other one is?
My best bet would probably be a surgeon in the Chicago
area - much closer to me. If anyone reading this post
knows of a great one in the midwest, please post his
name.
