If there's any dermatologist/aesthetic surgeon reading this:
About 10 years ago I was given a salylicic acid-based cream to correct dryness and very fine wrinkling on my forehead. -It had devastating effects.
My forehead swelled for months, (making my skin look temporarily better) but I think it clogged my pores because, as it started "unswelling" I noticed I had bumps all over my skin, and with time and retin-A cream, the lumps have "emptied" into large pores and a generally rough skin. To this day, my skin is so sensitive that it will swell, sometimes for a few hours ,if I just wash it even with a mild soap.
I am thinking of having microdermabrasion (maybe laser) done to smooth out my skin, but if my skin swells slightly for almost any reason, I am afraid of what an abrasion could possibly do. When it is swelled it seems to feel "thinner".
A couple of cosmetic surgeons tell me they have successfuly treated even very sensitive skin (but I don't think they really understand my condition), - I'd like to get someone else's advice. Has anyone ever heard of a condition like mine? Any advice from a doctor out there, or referral, would be immensely appreciated!
