Breast enlargement questions. - Cosmetic / Plastic Surgery Message Board

I'm considering having my breasts enlarged. I used to be a large A cup but after 2 pregnancies and 3 years of breastfeeding they are barely an A cup anymore. I have done research on the internet and I feel like I know everything I need to know about the procedure itself, my options, the immediate risks of surgery etc. What I haven't been able to find is information on long term problems etc. I've heard stories about people getting other health problems later on due to the implants but how big of a risk is that? How often will the implants have to be replaced? I'm 26 now so I'm sure that would mean a lot of surgeries? What do you do when you get old, I mean like when you get to your 70's or whatever...keep replacing them?

All I know is I heard you need to replace them every 10 years and when you get older like 70s, you can get them removed for good but then you will have extra skin

Replacement is a difficult question because it all depends on who you're asking. Half the drs tell you not to have them removed if they're not "giving you any problems." But if you tell a dr you just wanna be a bigger SIZE then they don't question it.

I'm 28 and I had my BA done a year ago. Like you, I was wondering about how often they needed to be replaced and was concerned about numerous surgeries in the future. I asked my plastic surgeon and he said there wouldn't be any need to replace them unless they ruptured. Of course, if you wanted to go bigger later on, then they would have to be replaced.

I hope you decide to go through with it because I'm REALLY happy that I did! Good luck.

Sorry, I didn't see it as a "comercial website" as it is a personal forum. I do have silicone implants and had saline for 5 years prior, I have deep regrets about implanting now because I will never be able to get my pre BA form back and will always have scars no matter what. Implants are not forever and that should be taken into consideration as well as the great cost, it is cheap to get implants put in, it is very costly to upkeep. There are so many things that can happen that a doctor can not predict and it will cost you. I have spent over 30 thousand dollars on my implant surgeries and now after 8 years I am considering explanting. The explant is going to cost me 11,400 and there are no gaurenties that I will have pretty breasts but the one thing they did guarenty is that I will be much flatter, scaring and need for a lift. I am 5'4 I weigh about 100 pounds and I went from a 32A/B cup to a C cup then a DD cup. I was told that implants were safe and they didn't cause health problems, well that is not the case. Some women do have reactions to the implants, not all.
My husband and I are military and do not have this kind of money so it has really had a terrible impact on our lives. He is All for me getting them out and having a normal, healthy happy life.
Maybe all you need is a lift? There are other option then implants to fill out your breasts as well you should ask your PS about it.
