jaw /ear muscle pain - Cosmetic / Plastic Surgery Message Board

Has anyone experienced pain in the jaw muscle towards ear after facelift surgery? This only happens when I bite down & use that muscle. I do have a hard lumpy swelling just below the earlobe. I am almost 2 weeks post op. It is only on one side & wondering if this will subside with time.

Yes, I just had a browlift/cheek lift over 2 months ago. I also experienced one side of my jaw that hurt when I chewed food. It went away for me but it does take a bit of time. Hang in there.

Thanks so much for the encouraging information. How long did it take for the lumps or swelling to go away? When did you notice the improvement with the jaw pain. Mine does not really hurt unless I bite down on something, then it is really sharp pain, probably from a muscle.

I was searching for "pain after facelift" and came across your post. As you will note, I just had my face/neck lift with rhinoplasty and we're August of 2008. I posted a question myself and called it "temple pain." Well, your pain seemed exactly like my pain is now. I hope all is well with you now, years later. Do you remember how long it took for your pain to go away? I'm only 4 days post-op and this is the worst of it, along with the splints inside and outside my nose. Thanks.
