finding a doctor to help with a scar - Cosmetic / Plastic Surgery Message Board

Does anyone know how to find a decent doctor in georgia or sc to treat a scar from an accident?
I have heard of new kinds of glue and sheeting that can be done instead of stitching of a scar. I don't know how to find a doctor that does this or is any good at removing or reducing scars.

Have you tried silicone patches? I had a scar on the back of my /thighleg about three inches long from the removal of a cyst. Since it was on the back of my thigh, there was alot of stretching going on with my skin in that area and it really started to widen in addition to being three inches long.

I tried a silicone patch called Rejuveness. It worked wonders and my scar today is barely visible. I saw an ad in a magazine and decided I'd give it a try. It costs around $50 (mine size did) and they come in all different sizes. A few years ago I saw it in the pharmacy section of either an Eckerds or Walgreens, so you may be able to purchase it somewhere like tjat. [remmoved] It works on scars up to 10 years old. One patch will last for the entire treatment. I used mine for about a year religiously and was extremely please with the results.

No, I haven't heard of that.. the problem is that it is on my forehead.. would I have to wear a patch? its basicaly like a hole and I dont see how it can improve unless there is some stitching. I just don't know how to find a specialist in this. The doctor that stitched it the first time was not good at all.
