Hi. Yes there is a HUGE mental adjustment. I got my reduction not quite six months ago and I'm still not entirely used to the new size. I spent two days in the hospital and I am sure glad that I did as I had a morphine drip or something that helped with the pain, so I really don't know the extent of the pain with out it.
It's very difficult to sleep on your back for about three weeks, and then you can carefully work your way to the side to sleep. I felt really good again in about six weeks maybe 8 but everyone is different.
The scars were really shocking and red at first, but at six months out, you can hardly even see them so keep that in mind. I'm so glad I did it!
