Post Help on Best treatment to remove Stretch Marks

Hi,I was hoping that somebody could please give em the best advice on how to remove Stretch Marks.

The problem is my Son(Just turned 22) developed them just over 2 years ago,He was an Amateur Boxer and was always athletic but was advised to put on a bit of weight if he ever wanted to turn professional,So he went out and bought various weight gain powders and also got a state of the art multi-gym and started lifting near the maximum weight a few hours after assembling it and about 2/3 weeks later they started to appear on both his inner arms and also both inner thighs. At first it didn't really bother him but then they started to spread down the arms & thighs and now he gave up his boxing career and lost his girlfriend and rarely even goes out of the house nowadays, whereas before he was virtually never home and was very sociable,I read somewhere that they can be removed completely but treatments can be very very expensive,So me and my Husband have been putting money by for his treatments and we can afford up to £10,000 Pounds(About $15,000 Dollars).Plus if it came down to it,then possibly a few Thousand more.So any help on the most advanced treatments on getting rid of them would be greatly appreciated,Thanks Cath..

There is a laser called Relume that is suppose to put pigmentation back into the skin. It only works on older stretch marks that are already white.

This sounds really unusual. I think your son may be suffering from depression, not stretch marks. Heaven help me if I let stretch marks change my attitude, I'd never go outside again. The other possibility (and I know I don't know your son) is that while he was "bulking up", he used steroids. They can profoundly change a person's personality. Either way, he sounds like he needs some counseling, not plastic surgery. Plastic surgery will not change low self esteme, it might make someone a little more confident, but believe me, if you dislike yourself with stretch marks, you probably still do without them. Of course, you know if this could apply to your son or not.

Hi Again,We have been told that by another doctor who went on that if it wasn't his skin then it would be something else(Maybe,Maybe Not 99% have an inferiority complex about some part of their body and if they could they would change it,His Skin just happens to be his). The fact is before this happened he was never home and very sociable and this has completely taken over his life.My husband had severe acne when he was a child and was always self conscious right through his adult life until he got dermabrasion a few years back and he was so happy with the results he never even went back for any follow up treatments and i have no reason to think that my son would be any different,In fact i know so,Personally i don't think they are that bad but then again i don't have to live with them and i also don't think anybody in their right mind would pay £150 pounds for a pair of trainers but with all due respect we come from a different generation were appearance and looks don't matter that much nearly as much as they do today.Nowadays people can be very cruel and when it first happened,he had a Sparring Session and took his top off and the other boxer refused to train with him as if he had some infectious disease.Sounds ridiculous doesn't it but that is just the mentality of some people today. That's what these boards are all about people being unhappy with certain elements of their body,It affects some people more than it affects others but it doesn't make them a manic depressive or a Schizophreniac just insecure and no psycologist will ever change that,They will just tell you that beauty is inside you and all that,Then when you leave the Marks are still there and all you have done is wasted money that could be used on a treatment,So could somebody please tell me of the best treatment/s.(No matter the Down Time on the Skin or even wherever it is in the World).Just the name of the treament/s and i will try from there. Thanks for any help Cath..
