Question Has anyone had bottoming out w/ Teresita G. Mascardo?

Hi my name is Kelly. It's been about 2 years since I had my surgery. I had them done by Dr. Mascardo, and I was just interested to hear some feed back if they liked their results or not. After my surgrey she had me wear a bandage around the top of my implants and she told me not to wear an underwire bra. So as time went on I thought it would be OK to wear an underwire, good thing I did b/c she is blamming it on the fack that I didnt wear an underwire enough, but she never stressed the importance of it. If she told me I would deffinetly had worn it. Well my implants have bottomed out. Ive been talking to alot of people who have had implants and other doctors. Most of them say it is due to the pockets being made to large by the surgon or that the implants are too heavy for the persons frame and tissue. She actually was trying to convince me to go bigger. I went from a small B to a large D. At my consult. she said that we could go any size but now she is saying that I am so tiny and dont have much fat so of course the implants will fall. Its one thing for the implants to sag and a completly different thing for them to bottom out. It needs to be fixed by surgery. I would love everyones feed back. Maybe she is a good doctor and I am just a rare case but I want to make sure luv Kel

Hi Kel,
So does it feel like to be "Bottomed Out"? Do the implants feel heavy? I am schedule to have my surgery by Dr. Mascardo early May 2003. I am also pretty tiny, 5'1, 105 lbs.... small B. I have not decided yet how big I want to go but from the looks of it, probably a FUll C. my first consult w/ her, she said that being anything bigger than a C, will make me top over. After the second consult, she said she could make me a D. I think a D would be too big for my frame but at the same time, I dont want to regret not going bigger. My friend had hers done in 2001, was a C-she went up to a D w/ 390 CC's.... shes going back b/c after having the baby, her boobs sag alot and getting her areolar reduced. We are going in on the same day. After hearing your story, I am a bit worried... how many CC's did she put in yours?

She put 480cc in my right and 500cc in my left bacause there was a little difference before and I wanted it corrected. They dont really feel any heavier since they bottomed out. I just feel that they dont look as good. I feel like I always have to wear a bra other wise thay look smaller. I wish that she would have told me that this could happen b/c maybe I would not have gone so big. I understand what you mean that you dont want to regret not going big enough. Most of the time peple usually want to go bigger after they get used to them. After my surgery I wanted to go bigger. I would look at her before and after pictures again to see if many others had bottomed out. Ask her if she has to do a lot of redues and if so what is the most common redue. After I had them done I liked them alot. They wernt that swollen and the pain only lasted 1 week. I just feel that she should have told me about this. either she made the pockets too big or my implants are too big for my frame and tissue. She never stressed the importance of an underwire, maybe she thought that she told me but she didnt. Maybe that would have made a big difference. Also where are you going to have your insision. I had mine around the nipple and I kind of regret it b/c it is noticable. I would have either done it under the breast fold or under the arm. bottoming out is fixable but the best bay to fix it is through an insision under the breast b/c it easiest too see what your doing and more presice. That means I will have two insision scars. I may just be a rare case but I would speek to more of her patients to see how she did. kel

Hi Kelly

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you.   I am having surgery done this Friday by Mascardo.  I didn't understand what you meant by "bottoming out"  Could you please explain that to me?
I'm really nervous about surgery and I was wondering if you could please let me know if you had them implanted over the muscle or under.  Just want to know if we have any parallels. I hope everything goes well for you and thank you for sharing such a personal experience.

Rochelle

Hi Rochelle,
"bottoming out" is when the implants slip down. Its different then just sagging. the implant looks low like it has just slipped down, which maked the nipple look high, even as if it point up a little. I look fine in an underwire bra. Its just that if I dont wear one I feel that I look smaller because you cant tell how big I am unless they are pushed up. Everone I show like my friends thinks that I look great in a bra, but I also want to look great with out one. She did my implants under the muscle because I have a tiny fram and was just a small B. There is less of a chance to bottom out if you go under the muscle. I may just be a rare case. Also if you are going under the muscle, someone told me that there is such a thing as partial unders and full unders. Ask which she is doing. It may just be that I didnt wear an underwire bra enough after the surgery, but she never stessed the importance. Maybe she thought that she had told me. So far I havent heard any negative feedback about her. What size are you going to? and what insision site? So, this Friday is your surgery good luck, don't worrie. Your just going to fall a sleep and then wake up with boobs. I made sure to ask the anast. to really drug me up so that I wouldnt have alot of pain. The pain was not that bad when I woke up it was more pressure than everything. He was very good usually I feel sick when I wake up from anast., and I told him that. It was the first time that I didnt feel sick. If you have any questions be sure to ask her. Good luck and let me know how everything goes. I know after my surgery I was very happy, well after the first week. I also got mine done in April. Its the perfect time because then your all set for summer. All i did was try on close that I could have never worn before, it was great. I'll let you know how everything turns out. best wishes
Luv Kel
