Breast Implants, Before or After Pregnancy - Cosmetic / Plastic Surgery Message Board

I am considering Breast Implants but unsure if i should wait until i have children. How does pregnancy change the shape and look of the implant?

Is it better to get them before or after children? Please let me know your experiences.

I think that ait would really depend if you get the implants above or below the muscle. If you get above - definetly wait until after the kids, if you go below, it shouldn't matter, because your muscles hold them in place.

I think alot would depend on whether you plan on having children in the near future (as in this year). If so, I would wait until after.

I don't know about others, but my implants are over the muscle and they are held in place nicely. I am 44 years old and they are beautiful! (I'm not bragging, but the doctor did a great job and they are perky and I don't wear a bra at home and don't need to).

I think it just depends on how good a job the doctor does as to how they will look. I think an advantage of waiting until you have children is that your skin will have stretched some and hopefully, your new ones won't look hard or like oranges (like so many women's do today). I hope you understand what I am saying. In any event, good luck. You won't regret it. It is the best thing I ever did for myself!

I would wait, for sure. I got them (under the muscle) about 4 years ago. The reason I got them is that after I had my son, my breasts became so huge and engorged that they were totally stretched out of shape. Then, when they returned to their normal size, I had a lot of loose skin. If I had had the implants to begin with, I'd have stretched out boobs with implants in them! In my opinion, you would be wise to wait so you know exactly what you'll need to do to get to the size and shape you desire.
