Marianna:
What type of work are you interested in having done.
Did you know that Dr. Frankel is not a board-
certified plastic surgeon. His board-certification
is in Otolaryngology. I think this means a
Head and Neck doctor. You can confirm this by going
to the American Board of Medical Specialties website.
You can also go to the California Medical Board
website and you will see a malpractice judgment
against the doctor for $112,000.
When you see the words, Board-Certified in
Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, most of
those doctors, I believe, are certified in Head
and Neck. They also allow dermatologists into
their membership.
Even if you find a board-certified Plastic Surgeon,
you must then do your homework and find a surgeon who
specializes in the procedure which interests you.
Also, keep in mind that Board-Certified Cosmetic
Surgeons are not plastic surgeons. "Cosmetic Surgeons"
are dermatologists.
If you go to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons
or American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery,
you will find a plastic surgeon.
It is my opinion, and only my opinion, but the
least reliable place to find information about a
doctor is the doctor's website.
I wish you good luck...and more importantly be
very careful.
Surely, I would think that you can find an excellent
doctor in the Washington, DC or New York area. Yes?
