Breast pain 5 years after implants!

Has anyone else experience pain in the breast area after getting breast implants? I'm not talking about the post-surgical pain. I'm talking about 'years' later. I had implants placed about 5 years ago. For the last 2 months I have had, kind of like a 'muscle pain' in my right breast. I am worried and hope I don't need more surgery to fix a problem. I go next week for a consultation. Anyone ever had a similar sensation? Thanks! :

Re: Breast pain 5 years after implants!

Hi, it sounds like maybe you pulled a muscle. Did you go to the doctor yet? I think it is more of a concern if the pain is sharp and sudden, which indicates loss of nerves in the area where they cut. Or a squeezing painful sensation which could be capsular contracture. Please let me know what happened. I am 3 years post implants and have the nerve sensation loss and get those sharp sudden pains still. But the doctor says it is from loss of nerves in that area and that it will eventually go away. Hope it works out for you. Take care.
Lola.

Re: Breast pain 5 years after implants!

Hi, yes I am still having the pain. I saw a plastic surgeon who said he couldn't 'feel' anything wrong. He said to have a mammogram. So, I had one and it came up normal. He then said that if the pain continues I should have an MRI. I truly think it's the implant causing the pain, but I guess I will wait a while and see if it gets worse :-(
