| Re: labia reduction
Hi Janart, I'm sorry it took me so long to check back. I went to my post op appt. It was my second surgery since surgery. She took stitches out the first time, but I was still to swollen to find all the stitches. During the second appt she found some more stitches that needed to be taken out. She did disolvable stitches inside, and for the outside incision did the removable stitches. Since mine came apart the first time she didn't want to take any chances with having only disolvable stitches. It's been a little over 3 weeks now, there is still a little stiffness, tenderness and swelling, but not bad. No sex for 6 weeks, and there is no way I would want to right now either. She also had me buy something called Aquaphor healing ointment. I think that's how it's spelled. The purpose was to help with any rubbing on the incision when I walked and it repels liquid, it seem to work well.
So far it looks pretty good, I'm not 100% happy though. Because of the botched job the first time, my repaired labia is shorter than the other side. One reason I wanted this surgery is for more symmetry (sp?). It's do-able though and I have to accept it. I'm not going to spend thousands to get perfection. If I wasn't a long time happily married woman and had to go through feeling insecure about what a man would think of the looks of my goodies, then I would be more upset. At least it's not rubbing on my underwear.
When is your surgery? Are you only having one side done?
