Any experience with Botox, do you like it- how long does it last?

Hi Mamasan,

I have had several Botox injections at the frown line. I developed a crease at that area from frowning all my life when in the sun.
The first lasted injection almost six months. There after they only lasted 3 months or so. I did not keep them up on a regular basis as one could spend 1,200.00 a year.They usually run $300.00 or so.
The last Botox I had was last May and also a "filler" was added to the frown line. It has worn off and the filler has been absorbed so....The frown line crease is back
The Botox did make a difference and relaxed the muscles , thus the frown line crease was almost gone but the results are not permanent.
Once the Botox wears off the creases reappear.
They might tell you if you keep it up and have the injections on a regular basis, every 3-4 months eventually the line will go away because the muscle will atrophy. However, I have not had anyone tell me that their's went away for good.

I had Botox injections one time (want to get it done again). I had it done to the frown line in between my eyebrows. I liked the results. For the first 2 days or so the area felt kinda numb/tingly. The feeling went down into my nose too. I was worried that I was having a side effect. Anyway...I had the injection on a Monday and by Thursday the Botox had taken effect. Mine lasted about 3 months or so. I wish it had lasted longer. My dr. said everyone is different. Some people last 3 months and others last 6-9 months. He also told me that every once in a while a certain Botox injection can be a 'dud' and that I had two weeks to come back IF the Botox didn't work.

I had it done for the first time about a month ago. It cost $96. I had 3 injections in my frown lines in between my eyes at the brow. It didn't hurt. It felt kind of tingly for a day or 2. By the 3rd or 4th day, I noticed the feeling went away & I was very tight looking & no more lines. Very smooth. I had a free follow up 2 weeks later to make sure it was working well for me. I don't know that I'll keep it up all that often, maybe just for special occasions, vacatinos, etc. I don't really NEED it yet. I did it on a whim just to see what I thought of it. I will definitly do it more often if/when I really need it.

$96 ...yipes, I need your Doctor. Mine is expensive.
