Anyone have areola reduction with a lift? - Cosmetic / Plastic Surgery Message Board

If so, are you pleased with the results? How much were they reduced? Most importantly, do you still have sensation?

Hi I didn't personally but no one answered you. I had a lift after I had implants removed. However, back in the early 90's, I helped run two support groups for women who had implants. We all shared our experiences and did "show and tell" after surgery. Every woman was delighted with the results. Many had their nipples reduced in size. It took awhile for the scar to fade and sensation to return, but no one had regrets.

How many women are we talking here....5, 10, 50? If it was alot of women, this gives me encouragment.

40-50? We had a large group in one. Not all of them needed their nipples redone. I will guess about between 12-15. Every woman had lifts except for one after she had her implants removed and she didn't look good as her skin was just hanging. What was amazing is that many of the women never even needed implants they had alot of breast tissue but sagged from age and kids. All they needed was a lift.
The other group we had about 15 people. I can say I knew of only 1 in there who had the nipples redone. This group was started later and it was becoming more difficult to find available surgeons who were trusted to remove implants. There was a year waiting list for UCLA. I stopped going to that group because of the driving distance. The group we had near here, was with a different surgeon but had trained at UCLA. I didn't see the results from the women in this group. After they had surgery they disappeared and the gal who held the meetings at her house passed away from cancer so that group disbanded.
Alot of course depends on your surgeon's expertise. Does he/she have contacts that you can question?

Mel this info is all so encouraging...thank you! I won't be able to have this done for a while. I got implants along with a mini-lift in 2001. I am moderately pleased with the results as I was totally deflated after breastfeeding all 4 of my children. I should however gotten a full lift along with areola reduction, but I honestly didn't know at the time. My areola are the size of teacup saucers! I am NOT kidding!

When I have my redo, which I will have to put off as long as possible due to financial constraints, I want silicone implants a little smaller this time (am a DD, would like to be a very small D) as well as smaller areolas. They don't have to be teeny, but just a little smaller.
