Blister after facelift - ughh....... - Cosmetic / Plastic Surgery Message Board

Nine days ago I had a mini facelift. All is going quite well, with one exception. The area in front of one of my ears is quite red. After the follow-up visit today, I was told a blister was forming and that I should keep the area clean, keep my hair away from it and not to be concerned if it breaks (which it probably will) and will then fall off. I was told this sometimes happens, especially with smokers and not to hesitate to call the office for any concerns. (I do not smoke.)

Well, naturally I am scared. The other ear area is fine and mostly healed. I have another follow-up appointment next week.

Has anyone had this happen to them or can anyone give me some advice? Thanks SO much.

I think it will be fine, the doctor/nurse did not seem alarmed right?
Many strange things can happen when your healing, you just have to not go to the worst place, until the doctor tell you there's a problem.
With that said, just watch it closely and see if it looks infected etc..

Thank you SO much for the reply. No, the doctor/nurses did not seem alarmed. I have been a "nervous Nellie" just waiting for something strange to happen. I keep thinking maybe I should be on an antibiotic, but right after the surgery the PS said there was antibiotic in the IV.

I had a mini face lift 2 months ago and am still healing. I did have blister like lumps in back of my left ear and it did burst expelling some blood and mostly fluid. My doctor told me not to worry about it. I am healing fine now.
