Exclamation serious problems with dermalive

Hi everyone,

I am curious to know more about what the doctor in Germany says about the granuloma "burning themselves out"... anyone knows how that works??
I hade dermalive injected in my nasolabial folds and between the brows lines, in 2002. For about two years I was fine, and then I started noticing tiny little bumps alongside where the injection took place. I also started showing redness alongside the lines, to the point where I had to start using cosmetic concealer which did hide the redness. In time however, the bumps became larger, especially the ones on my forehead, between the eyebrows, the bumps are elongated and very visible, they are horrible!!! My self-esteem has been hit hard, I am a teacher and students and teachers look at the problem area. Students ask me what I have there, but teachers and other adults don't. I have seen about a dozen of board certified plastic surgeons in different parts of the United States and the original one that injected the Dermalive in Central America, she didn't tell me ofthe side effects at all. As a matter of fact she told me the fillerwould go away after about two years and I would have to return for a "touch up" injection. She was wrong! She claims she has had the injection done, but I really don't believe her, she shows absolutely no sign of anything on her face.
Anyway, plastic surgeons are interested but they really don't know what to do without any bad results pssoibly resulting from surgery. I took steroids, had cortisone injection in the area which made a huge blister and had to be incised, now I have a scar there. I have been told by some surgeons that surgery through the inside of the mouth can be done, but others say that this could cause bad nerve damage leaving me impaired in my mouth. Steroids did decrease the bumps but made me gain weight incredibly and they returned to their original size before I had even finished the steroid treatment...I want to know more about a posting saying that someone had found a doctor developing a new treatment that leaves no scarring (laser and/or microsurgery). Lawsuit to the company is also a good idea, I think the more people pursue it, the better.
My bumps continue to grow very slowly, but they do, I wonder if they ever will stop growing and who will have the cure to dissolve them without surgery. I used to have a beautiful face, now it is all deformed because the bumps have caused to lift the skin and it is uneven one side from the other, some of the lumps are very visible, they cannot be hidden with cosmetic concealer like "clinique concealer" which is what I use.
I also had a surgeon perform ultrasound over the skin surface, which was effective in reducing the lump size but they returned to their original size after a week or two.
Please let me know of a herbal cure for the inflamation, that would be very good, to find a herb that reduces the inflamation and cuts the aleergy that causes the lumps. Maybe through a naturopath or homeopath??
Thanks,
Menche

Re: serious problems with dermalive

It seems that the surgeons we have all talked to don`t know anything about DERMALIVE at all. They are completly stumped as how to fix us!!
Are there any Lawyer`s on this message board that will start a law suit? I`m in if there is!!
I was told to start steroid injections, but I`m scared to death!! I`ve heard sooo many bad stories resulting in the injections. Unless there is another course to take, I`m going with a lawyer. Doctors around the world are still injecting people with DERMALIVE and DERMADEEP and not telling them the end results.

Miss Penelope,
can you tell me the name of your doctor in Australia? I live in hawaii and I would like to consider going to visit him. What part of Australia is he in?
I would appreciate your help!
Thanks,
Menche

Re: serious problems with dermalive

Hi All,

After listening to all of you with the same problems as I have been experiencing for the past few years I thought I might let you know what has happened to me.

Yes I too had the granulomas and have had the cortisone and steroid injections, and this helped reduce swelling for a period of time. I then had a Doctor scalpel in the groove of my nasal labial fold and try to pop the lump out like a marble, much to their dismay it did not come out?? Even I could have told them that. None the less, they attempted to do this at least 20 times and I can tell you it was very painful and left me even to this very day with a hideous scar. I then managed to get infection in that area and the right side of my face blew up into a balloon like shape by the time I worked my day and got into a doctor, who was suppose to drain my face to alleviate the pressure of the infection. She was so bewildered by this that she took notes and prescribed so many drugs for me and sent me home. I ended up back at my Cosmetic surgeons office who again had to cut my face open to drain it, and I can tell you there was so much infection that the needles for the anaesthetic could not get in deep enough to localize the area.
I then lived and suffered from the infection, which could and would flare up at anytime for the next two years until one day it almost closed over my throat passage, my nose and ears of course and I ended up at a new surgeon here in Melbourne who wanted to admit me to the infectious diseases ward at one of the Hospitals. (I declined the offer and stuck to days at home on antibiotics)
My new surgeon went to every length to investigate the product and even contacted the Company that makes it in Switzerland (I believe), he also went onto chat rooms with other surgeons and now has so many others contacting him with Tumours on the forehead etc...... This did not help as no one could offer any better solution other than Cortisone etc.....
When I visited the infectious disease specialist he advised my surgeon to get them out, so this meant I had to have surgery to cut them all out......and to try and get rid of the infection that had spread to both sides of my face.
This surgery cost me $$$ thousands of dollars and of course not subsidised, and it took 6 hours to cut it out. Most of the lumps are out now but I still have some existing which I dare say my surgeon will want to take out again.....The good news is I have not had a flair up of infection, but I now have scars around my nose and mouth and I feel like people must be thinking I have suffered from bad acne........

Re: serious problems with dermalive

Hallo everyone,
I am from Germany. I have also very deep problems after injection of dermalive with some big granulomes. Before i decide to put them out I want to make clear the count-questions. I wonder, that no one of you told something about bringing to court your doctors or the company, who sold the product. It is DermaTech in France, but they ale insolvent since 2007. But they should have an procuct-liability-insurance. Did somebody of you tried something or did you pay all the doctor-costs by yourself?
