Worried about my surgery - Cosmetic / Plastic Surgery Message Board

i'm having my upper bleps (eyelids ) done next week. Im worried they will make my eyes look odd, also that they wont take enough skin off and it wont look any different.

Will i get any pain soreness or bruising afterwards ? Would like some advise, thanks

Hi. Hasn't your PS given you some information about what to expect after? It can vary based on technique used and things like your age. Anyway, you will be bruised and swollen and may have trouble closing eyes all the way for a while. If that happens the doc will probably give you eye exercises to do (pulling down lid or squinting and stuff like that). Your uppers can turn very red along the edges too. They'll probably be puffy for 2-3 weeks or longer but uppers seem to heal quicker than lower. You'll have scar lines around the crease area which can get red and bumpy and take 4-5 months to smooth out--mine are just fine flat white lines now after 5 months. You can certainly go out for walks in 2-3 days wearing sunglasses. Just be sure to follow all instructions he/she gives you

Hi I had my eyes done last year. I was scared too but excited. You will look like a boxer who lost the match and you won't want to leave the house for almost a week and then with dark glasses. I was given drops for the eyes and ointment for the stitches. I had no problem closing the eyes, no puckering, and some discomfort but certainly tolerable. It actually was pretty exciting as I could already see what a great job my doctor did. She really did and I am thrilled. It's so fun to put eyeliner on and not have it be a jagged line because of the wrinkles. I look so much better rested and younger. Anyway, the first two days, it just felt better to sit on the couch with my eyes closed and listen to the tv or music. Good luck.

Mel, can you tell me who your doc was and did you do lowers too?

Dr Laurie Mccall in Ventura, Calif. Highly skilled dr specializing in eyes. Her husband is a plastic surgeon Dr Samual Bern. He is a great surgeon too.
