nipple numbness 3 weeks after breast augmentation?

Only one of my nipples are numb, the other one feels normal. The breast with the numb nipple is also very tingly off and on, while the other one feels completely normal. Can anybody who has been through this tell me the possibility of feeling in my nipple returning? I'm really upset about this and am hoping it's just short term. Thank you

More than likely the sensation will return. It is only 3 weeks out. I can't remember if I lost the feeling. However, I do know with other surgeries I have had it has taken up to a year.

Thanks That gives me some hope. I tend to get a little impatient.

Ask your dr too. Actually be glad you don't have feeling right now. I had a surgerical breast biopsy last year. OMG it hurt to have anything touch the nipple. It was too sensitive. Just the material from my bra drove me nuts until it healed

Re: nipple numbness 3 weeks after breast augmentation?

I experienced numbness after my breast aug. The feeling eventually came back. In fact, its intensified depending on my cycle. It takes several months to really recuperate from the surgery. I also had a lift with the breast aug. Its still the best decision that I ever made! Give yourself time to heal.

I am 2 1/2 months post breast augmentation and I still do not have nipple sensation. It's completely normal for this to happen. <edited> many women say sensation returns 6-12 months post op.

Re: nipple numbness 3 weeks after breast augmentation?

It took me a good year after my implant surgery to feel normal again.
