Hello. I had labiaplasty 5 days ago. I went in there just intending to have the right side shortened so it would be the same as the left. Now that I can look at it, it seems like he completely took off the labia minora on the right side and it looks even less symmetrical than before. I'm so sad about it. Is there anything to be done to make them look even, besides cutting the left one? I never wanted it gone entirely, just wanted them to be the same. I'm also worried about decreased pleasure from sex. I always had pleasurable sensations from having my labia touched and I'm so sad I did this to myself. And I feel like I'd rather have them be different sizes than cut off the left one too. Please help. I'm really distraught that I didn't think this through. =(

I am sorry to hear about your issues with the procedure. At this point, you really have three options.
First, leave them as is.
Second is to have your other labia trimmed down to match the size of the previously operated on labia. Some women actually prefer this look and it is what they want when they have a labia reduction.
Third is to have the labia reconstructed to match your existing non operated on labia. There are not a lot of doctors with extensive experience at this reconstruction, and many that do labiaplasty will not do the reconstruction.
As far as I know the most experienced at correcting botched labiaplasty procedures are Dr. Gary Alter in Beverly Hills and Drs. John Miklos & Robert Moore in Atlanta.
It is possible. So good luck and hope it works out well for you.

Hi Vanessa. I have another question: It seems like the surgeon altered something about the clitoris (the hood?) on that side as well. The clitoris seems so much ... smaller than prior to the surgery. Is this bad? It seems like there is very little sensation there when compared to the unaltered side. Is this loss of sensation likely to be permanent? That would be devastating. Is that potentially fixable?
I am curious what kind of surgeon your doctor was and to see if I know them. Sounds like he did more than you requested.
In regards to the sensitivity, have heard of loss of sensation, but only temporarily. Could it be permanent, sure. But what I have heard from both docs & women is of temporary loss of sensation. Assuming he only removed hood and did not affect the actual clitoris, the loss of sensitivity may be caused by the tissue healing...
What can be more common is heightened sensitivity because the clitoris is more exposed now with less skin in the way.
Hope that helps.
Let me know if you have more questions!
Best,
Vanessa

OMG! Less pleasure with sex after your labiaplasty? Mine was the other way around. I do hope this gets better. Hugs.
