Unhappy Second Revision Rhinoplasty

Im wondering if anyone knows or has been in similar situation as me. I had Rhinoplasty at 14 and as the years went on (10 to be exact) I started noticing strange things about my nose. Cartliage was popping out of the septum/right nostril area. Overall I liked the shape of it and all although couldn't breathe a whole lot better then before the surgery. So it seemed like this deformity progressively looked worse and went to see my doctor about it early this year. He couldn't explain what had happened other then the fact that my septum was disintegrating and it looked like an explosion in my nose. This definitely worried me. I never had any major hits or anything to it over the years so still clueless as to how this occured. The doctor who originally performed my surgery is retiring and referred me to a reconstructive specialist out of town. After meeting with him he couldn't quite explain what had happened either. So about a month later I was scheduled for a reconstructive/revisional rhinoplasty, which in this case was alot to handle. Considering I did not have cartliage left or a nose for that matter the doctor had to use grafts (both ears and rib) and my temperal fascia. The procedure took approx. 14 hours total. Quite the adventure. Recovery process sucked, but went well overall. After my final appointment before heading back home there were some things that needed to be tested in regards to an infection. I found out a couple of days later that I indeed did have an infection. After about 2 1/2 weeks of going through 5 different rounds of antibiotics, ID doctors, and the ER I finally got rid of it. The redness at the tip of my nose would come and go and so which my doctor said that because the skin was stretched so much he was worried about not having enough oxygen to that area which would result in black tip. Went through 4-5 different sessions of Hyperbaric and things got better. Now I am 9 months post-op and have noticed quite a few changes in the appearance. Things looked great other then swelling until recently. I have what I call a horn growing out of the tip of my nose and somehow a bump grew on my bridge. Went to see doctor again...and he said nose didn't heal properly and something to do with skin shrinkage? In order to fix this I will need a 2nd revision around summertime once its already been a year. He said that he doesn't believe my nose will get any better either. This whole thing has freaked me out tremendously and have gone through so much and feels like I can't get to where I need to be. I am terrified that no matter how many times I get surgery, this will continue to happen. Also worried that when I go back again my nose will look worse. Help!!

Re: Second Revision Rhinoplasty

There's a ENT and Plastic Surgeon in Miramar FL that had to reconstruct my son's nose due to a football accident. He had extensive damage and he performed amazing results. He's name is Dr. Richard Davis...make sure you find the right one, he is in Miramar FL. You can message me if you want more info. He has a website and you can see the revision photos he does amazing work.
