Costochondritis
Anyone out there have this that can tell me more about it, what it feels like, how bad the pain is, what helps, what makes it worse, successful treatment/management?
My autistic son has this and seems to be really badly affected by it on a daily basis. He can't really explain about it. He has chest, abdominal and back pain. It seems to be worse about 2 hours after eating a heavy meal, and also worsens when anxious.
Because he also has Marfan's Syndrome, at first the doctor thought it may have been a dissecting aorta, but the cardiologist ruled that out by echocardiogram.
He also has Mitral Valve Prolapse, but that supposedly has not worsened since first diagnosed 2 years ago according to the echocardiogram.
So doc. says it must be costochondritis.
Any replies appreciated. |
